Brahma Temple –
The Brahma Temple is dedicated to the Hindu God of Creation, Lord Brahma, it is nestled in the Pushkar valley. Pushkar has over 500 temples, some very old, but the Brahma temple is the most important among them. The inner sanctum of the temple is dedicated to Lord Brahma and his second wife, Gayatri. The temple is made of marble and stone stabs, the temple is decorated with silver coins and reveals a silver turtle on its floor. The Brahma temple has been recognised as one of the ten most religious places in the world and is considered to be one of the five sacred pilgrimage destinations for Hindus.
Pushkar Lake –
Pushkar Lake is a sacred lake of the Hindus. The Hindu scriptures describe it as "Tirtha-Raj" – the king of pilgrimage. Pushkar lake has a status equal to the holy Ganga river in India. Legends has it that the Lotus fell from the hands of Lord Brahma the Creator Of world and Pushkar Lake born. The lake has 52 bathing ghats (steps leading into the water) and the water around each ghat is believed to possess special medicinal powers. The Pushkar Lake is a popular destination for pilgrims, as evidenced by the over 500 temples that dot the banks of the lake.
Savitri Temple –
This temple is dedicated to lord Brahma’s first wife, goddess savitri. Savitri Temple is one of the most renowned and sanctified spots. This temple is situated on a hillock right behind the Brahma temple. In this temple you will find the idols of both the wives of Lord Brahma named Savitri and Gayatri. But as per tradition Goddess Savitri is always worshipped first and then prayers to Goddess Gayatri are offered. Later, in order to please her, the shrine was dedicated to Devi Savitri. Also, the arti (worship ceremony) is performed first in Savitri Temple and then in Gayatri Temple.
