Salim singh ki haveli is one of the most famous place in jaisalmer after jaisalmer fort. This haveli is built in 1815 by Salim Singh. This haveli is situated beside the hills near the Jaisalmer Fort. The high arched roof of haveli is designed in the shape of Peacocks. People claim that Salim Singh made two additional floors in order to make it as high as the fort but, the Maharaja did not take this attempt in good spirit he order to demolished the upper level of this haveli.
Nathmal’s Haveli –
Nathmal Singh ki haveli is the residence of Deewan Of Jaisalmer State that time. The architects of this haveli were Hathi and Lulu who happened to be brothers. They started the construction of this mansion from two points at the same time and the outcome is a beautiful blend of the symmetrical construction. Thus the architecture present in this haveli is quite different from the one popular in other parts of Jaisalmer.
Patwon’s Haveli –
Patwo ki haveli is not just a single building, it is a combination of five different havelies. Every haveli is a distinct architecture quality of its own. This havelis is constructed in 1805 by by Guman Chand Patwa. This haveli is largest haveli in jaisalmer and also known as the 'mansion of brocade merchants'. The tanot village is close to the border with Pakistan, and it is very close to the battle site of Longewala of the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. In India-Pakistan war, Tanot was under heavy attack and shelling. However, none of the shells or bombs fired at the temple exploded. This reaffirmed people’s faith that Goddess the temple.
